Berez Centre of Training Excellence
Within BEREZ a Centre of Training Excellence is creating awareness of career choices for young people, increasing the number of technicians and graduates from relevant specialist courses and creating bespoke vocational training solutions to meet individual and organisational requirements.
Narec’s Training Centre and 27m high wind turbine training tower was established to deliver the skills required to install, operate and maintain renewable energy systems.
Narec delivers a range of practical, industry-led training courses allowing prospective trainees to gain hands-on installer training and experience of working with various low carbon and renewable energy technologies.
Newcastle University
Newcastle University boasts over 30 graduate and post graduate offshore engineering and energy related courses, and also have a local marine biology and engineering base where offshore research is undertaken.
As a world-class, research-intensive institution with strengths across the engineering disciplines on both Marine Science and Technology they provide a single base for all education, innovation and research related to the sea.
Northumberland College
Northumberland College pioneered a certificate in Sustainable Energy for Wind Turbine Service Technicians. They also worked with industry to develop the UK’s first Wind Turbine Training Tower and aim to become an international centre of excellence in wind energy.
