We deliver services and prospect for investment opportunities throughout Northumberland, but our initial focus is on three areas in particular:
- Ashington, where we will manage the £30m town centre regeneration scheme, including the creation of a new community hub with sports and leisure facilities, healthcare, a library and arts facilities.
- Blyth, part of the Enterprise Zone offering simplified planning and business rate discounts. The port facilities and the presence of the National Renewable Energy Centre (NAREC) will help attract investment in energy, engineering and other key sectors.
- Berwick, where we will drive the development of key sites and lead the regeneration effort in the historic town.
Current Development Projects
In Ashington Arch has already developed a strategic concept for the town centre, based on:
- a vision of Ashington as a healthy place
- the catalytic role of the planned new Community and Leisure Centre
- the urban form of the town centre and establishing a link to new housing on the former hospital site.
In Berwick upon Tweed we are working with the Council, the Berwick’s Future partnership, English Heritage, landowners and developers to create an agreed vision and agenda for action. Potential future projects include:
- area around the former Kwiksave store and Walkergate
- regeneration of the historic Barracks and the Parade
- development of the outstanding Quayside site
