The stunning new Housing development “Delaval Park”, has reached a major milestone following a ground breaking ceremony on the site.

Arch, The Northumberland Development Company is investing £2.5m in the development of 28 houses and apartments on the site of the former Blyth Valley Council offices in Seaton Delaval.

These outstanding family homes will be available in a range of house styles consisting of two and three bedroomed homes and a small number of apartments. All are intended for private rent, which will ensure good quality new homes for working people on middle and lower incomes.

The first new properties will be ready in October 2014 and the building works is scheduled for completion by the middle of January 2015. Properties will be available for rent and high demand is expected so early registration is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Arch, The Northumberland Development Company has appointed Turney Wylde as the Main Contractor, who are being supported by Plan B, a team of design partners for the project (a consortium made up of the Elliott Associates and Ian Darby Partnership, supported by Shadbolt Consulting) to deliver an innovative scheme of housing.

Dave Ledger, Arch Chair and Deputy Leader of Northumberland County Council said: “These new homes at Seaton Delaval will be Arch’s first major investment in developing a new rental housing offer, and our first direct housing development. Private rental has often been seen as a niche sector of the housing market, but across Britain demand for high-quality, professionally-managed private rented housing is growing rapidly as many people, especially young families, are finding it harder or less attractive to buy”.
