There is a range of high-quality development sites that meet the needs of the renewables sector.
Some of these sites have Enterprise Zone status, offering a range of incentives to support new and expanding businesses.
Bates/Wimbourne Quay
The Bates & Wimbourne Quay strategic site is located on the south shore of the River Blyth Estuary to the north of Blyth town centre. The site is currently in use as Port operational land.
Commissioners Quay
Commissioners Quay development is a brownfield site located on the waterfront of Blyth Harbour and covers an area of approximately 2.08ha. The site is next to Blyth town centre and its bus interchange.
East Sleekburn
This site is located at Cambois near to the north shore of the River Blyth Estuary and is approximately 3km north of Blyth town centre and the National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec). South Harbour
The South Harbour strategic site is located on the south shore of the River Blyth Estuary and is just to the south of Blyth town centre. The site is approximately 20 hectares in size and is currently in use as Port operational land.
Sleekburn
The Sleekburn strategic site is located near the north shore of the River Blyth Estuary and is approximately 4km north of Blyth town centre and the National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec). The site is approximately 35ha in size and is currently in agricultural and commercial use.
Cambois
The RWE npower site is located at Cambois near to the north shore of the River Blyth Estuary and is approximately 3km north of Blyth town centre and National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec). The site is currently vacant but has historically housed coal-stocking yards, associated with a coal-fired power station. This brownfield site is approximately 95ha in size.
